#다큐멘터리 연극 기반 창작자 #광주의 이야기
“제 주변에서 발견한 궁금증을, 고민을 따라가는 작업을 하고 있어요!”
광주에서 나고 자랐다. ‘내 것’을 하기 위해 ‘내 곳’, 광주를 창작의 기반으로 선택했다.
광주의 이야기가 광주 바깥에서도 공감할만 한 이야기가 될 수 있다고 믿기에, 2018년 창작 그룹 MOIZ를 만들었다. 광주에 살며 마주치는 의문과 불편함에서 창작을 시작했으며, 다큐멘터리 연극과 장소 특정적, 커뮤니티 중심의 작업을 지속해왔다.
5·18 이후 40년 동안 5·18 이 어떻게 기록·기념되었는지, 비 경험 세대인 우리에게 전달된 것은 무엇이었는지 증언하기 위해 직접 무대에 오른 다큐멘터리 연극 <미래 기념비 탐사대> 와 옛 광주적십자병원 사적지 민간 매각을 둘러싼 서로 다른 의견을 콘크리트의 목소리로 들 으며 광주 도심을 걷는, 장소이동형 오디오 씨어터 <콘크리트 보이스> 등을 쓰고 연출했다.
그간 다큐멘터리 연극이 ‘지금, 나’를 관객과 직접 마주하게 하는 순간과 장소를 마련한다는 점에 매료되어 작업 했으나, 휘발되지 않았으면 하는 이야기 <상상서울>를 만났다. <상상 서울>을 통해 광주 바깥의 여러 사람을 만나고 싶어 첫 다큐멘터리 영화를 시도하는 중이다.

Minju DO was born and raised in Gwangju which is her creative place to make her own thing. Until now she has worked on documentary theater sharing now-here moment with audience. Fanciful Train To Seoul is a first story that she doesn’t want it to disappear.
